Submit Your Abstract

You may use this page to submit your 200 – 300 word abstract to the Utah Historical Review. Please write your abstract to be readable as a single paragraph, with minimal or no use of footnotes.

Abstracts will be evaluated by a panel of readers and those abstracts that indicate promising papers will result in authors being invited to submit their full papers to the journal for publication.

Book reviews should include publisher, date, and an outline of what the book is about and any special reactions you may have had.

Paper Length

Acceptable length for papers is dependent upon the “level” of the author:  5-10 pages for underclassmen; 10-15 for upperclassmen; and 15-40 for graduate students and history professionals.  Book reviews should be between 500 and 900 words. See the Call for Papers for more information.
